One of Australia’s most successful and intriguing acts, Hiatus Kaiyote, will play their debut New Zealand shows this September. The future soul band play Auckland’s Kings Arms on Thursday, September 3 and Wellington’s San Fran on Friday, September 4.
In a short couple of years Hiatus Kaiyote have risen from the bohemian shadows of Melbourne to the world’s biggest stages. Nominated for a 2012 Grammy award for their song “Nakamarra” and with a brand-new record Choose Your Weapon the band are bringing their future sound to New Zealand for the first time. Fresh off the back of a performance on US late night show Jimmy Kimmel and with a clutch of 5 star reviews for their new album, Hiatus Kaiyote have been described by The Guardian as a band ”that casually bewitch their fans” and possessing the ability to transport fans to a “psychedelic, mesmerising adventure land”. Their new album Choose Your Weapon is out now via Sony NZ.
